What is the SHN Therapy Center?
The Special Hope Network Therapy Center is a growing educational and rehabilitation service provider for children and families in Lusaka, Zambia. We offer growing services for people with acquired or developmental disabilities.
What is Speech-Language Therapy?
Speech-Language Therapy is a type of treatment for individuals who have not yet developed their speech or have lost their ability to communicate with others. Speech-Language Therapy can help people who have difficulty using sounds, understanding or using spoken language, saying words and sentences clearly, or have difficulty eating and swallowing.
How does Speech-Language Therapy work?
First, the speech therapist conducts an assessment examining the 5 areas of communication. Then, the therapist will create a detailed report and/or individualized goals. With the family, the therapist decides which goals are best in improving your loved one’s communication, and then begin speech-language treatment.
